Lili’s Pick: Ratatouille

Lanie’s Pick: Frozen 2

As Jews, my sister and I take pleasure in viewing the now very progressive films that come from the studio founded by the famously anti-Semitic Walt Disney. We sincerely hope his frozen head spins every time Disney comes out with a character of color or one who has ambiguously homosexual preferences. We’re both fans of Disney films, though I feel it is important to note that neither of us are the kinds of fans who would get married at Disneyland or wear a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt un-ironically. I’d been dying to show the Oscar-winning Ratatouille to my sister for sometime, and we were both interested in Frozen 2. Ratatouille is always a delight to watch, and uniquely exists in a category of animal-centric films that does not involve death! What a concept! Frozen 2, while not featuring the same level of music as the first film, was equally as stunning and lovely as its predecessor. I still find Olaf to be annoying, but I don’t blame anyone for that. Maybe Josh Gad, I might blame him.
